ABOUT US
Mainstream Centers was established in 1982 with a focus on individualized instruction in a natural environment representing an adult lifestyle. Individuals attending this program are encouraged to make choices and take control of what is important in their lives. We strive to find a balance between what is important to and important for each person in order to build a structured and goal-oriented program. Our main objective is to maintain a happy, healthy, and safe environment while offering fun and meaningful training opportunities. It is important to find different ways to get involved with our local community in order to enhance and maintain different support groups. We focus on promoting independence by offering fun and meaningful training opportunities. Providing life skills training and social activities help adults with developmental disabilities live and work successfully in the community.
Our Services
Day Program
Mainstream is comprised of two programs that are based on the amount of support needed for each individual. This level of support needed is determined by the individuals IPP planning team before being referred to our program. We provide a 4:1 or 8:1 staffing ratio to help meet each individual’s needs. Our program is designed to develop, maintain or increase self-care, self-advocacy, employment training, community integration, and social, mobility, and behavior skills. We utilize natural environments for training and encourage the development of supports in hope to work toward the ultimate goal of employment.
